Samskrita Bharati (founded 1981) is a movement for the continuing protection, development and propagation of the Sanskritam language as well as the literature, tradition and the knowledge systems embedded in it.
Samskrita Bharati is a non-profit organization comprised of a large team of very dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers who take the knowledge of Sanskrit to all sections of society irrespective of race, gender, region, religion, caste, age etc.
The main All India office is located in New Delhi.
Our aim majorly is to -
Promote the study of Samskrit and make it accessible to all sections of society.
Co-ordinate the work with Samskrit institutions, specifically in Konkan region, for a more effective and rapid spread of Samskrit.
Provide support, assistance and other means of supporting social workers, scholars who work for the protection and promotion of Samskrit and its traditions.
Advertise about books, magazines, news bulletins, newspapers and leverage all means of communication to spread knowledge and information about Samskrit and its knowledge traditions.
Help develop endowments and funding mechanisms for activities necessary for the promotion of Samskrit and its knowledge systems within the region.
SB is regularly present in Konkan region for more than 25 years. Samskrita
Bharati (SB) Konkanam / Konkan Praant (i.e. region) has registered office
in Mulund (Mumbai) and regional offices in Dombivali (Dist. Thane) and
Parvari (in Goa).
Konkan region has 23 districts comprising of Palghar, Ambarnath, Kalyan, Thane, Vasai, Mumbadevi, Prabhadevi, Borivali, Sahar, Oshiwara, Marve Dindoshi, Mulund, Ghatkopar, Chembur, Parle - Vidyanagari, Navi Mumbai, Panvel, Raigad, Uttar Ratnagiri, Dakshin Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Uttar Goa and Dakshin Goa.
SB Konkanam conducts various regular and occasional programmes like
Sambhashanshibiram (Spoken Samskrit Camp), Baalkendram (for kids – 7
to 12 yrs age), Devavaani (for kids studying in 5 th to 8 th standard),
Geetakendra (Samskrit through Geeta), Bhasha Pravesh (advanced
Samskrit programme), Patradwara Samskritam (by correspondence),
residential training camps at regional and district levels.
