Samskrita Bharati crossed a new unknown frontier of being associated with one of the world’s popular marathons for the first time to take its first hand experience for spreading awareness fortifying its fund raising programme and associating with the like-minded teams in society at large. Kudos to the team that worked and ran determinedly even when efforts towards set activity of District Sammelanams and directed causes of Ayodhya Consecration were underway in a big way. This was Samskrita Bharatis first presence at Tata Mumbai Marathon on 21-Jan-24.

In a unique and heartwarming display of commitment volunteers of Samskrita Bharati laced up their running shoes to participate in the Tata Mumbai Marathon (TMM) 2024. The event known for promoting various social causes witnessed the enthusiastic participation of Samskrita Bharati volunteers who ran not just for fitness but also to raise awareness about the conservation and spread of the ancient yet relevant Indian language Samskrit.
Impact of their efforts extended with its awareness as Samskrita Bharati managed to raise more than INR 3.25 lakh rupees through TMM’ s philanthropy partnering. Donations poured in through online platform provided by United Way of Mumbai philanthropy partner of TMM contributing to Samskrita Bharati’s mission.

Decked in vibrant Bharat blue jerseys and adorned with banners and flags advocating for the richness of Samskrit the Samskrita Bharati team joined thousands of other runners bringing attention to the cultural and linguistic heritage of Bharat. Their presence was a testament to the idea that marathon running can be a powerful platform for promoting causes along with physical health.
Group of volunteers were engaged in Virtual run category of TMM while other volunteers participated in On Ground run event. Shri Vivek Gawankar and Smt Dhuri were the only elgible BIB receivers this year. Both group of volunteers were engaged with onlookers sharing information about the importance of Samskrit in preserving Indias cultural roots in whatever proportion they could.
The NGOs participation in the event was not just a run it was a cultural journey promoting the essence of Samskrit as a living language that continues to contribute to the tapestry of Indias diverse linguistic landscape.

Samskrita Bharati could also reach to couple of imminent regular runners and Iron Man of India such as Dr Vishwanath Tiwari. They have assured of partnering with Samskrita Bharati from upcoming year with appropriate preparations.

As the Samskrita Bharati team crossed the finish line their message resonated not only with fellow runners but also with the spectators and media covering the event. The Tata Mumbai Marathon became more than a race it became a platform for promoting linguistic unity and cultural heritage with Samskrita Bharati leading the way with each stride.
