Sahar + Oshiwara + Marve - Dindoshi districts - Joint Samskrit Sammelanam held on 3rd Feb 2024

The joint Janapada Sammelanam of Malad-Marwe Oshiwara and Sahar districts was held on Saturday February 3 2024 at the Gita Dhyaan Yoga Kendra in Sundarnagar of Malad West suburb from 2 pm to 7 pm. More than 100 people participated in the conference.
The inaugural session was graced by Revered Swami Umeshvardevji Maharaj of Kailash Ashram Rishikesh and Smt. Rekha Sawant Head Mistress and Trustee of Chandrabhaga Vidyalaya Malad East. Swami blessing the noble cause of Samskrita Bharati stated the importance and relevance of Samskrit that forms base of our rich and ancient yet relevant knowledge system flowing through the Vedic scriptures. In her speech Smt. Rekha Sawant committed to providing atleast one hour a week of Samskrit studies at her school starting next year with guidance from Samskrita Bharati.
The second session Introduction to Samskrita Bharati was conducted by Shri Haresh S. Amdekar Konkan Prant Sampark Pramukh Samskrit Bharati. Later Mr. Sudesh Patil Assistant Vice President Metro Rail - Reliance Group chairing this session congratulated Samskrita Bharati for its programmes to conserve Samskrit language make it accessible to all with aim of making it as a language of conservation. He expressed his willingness to help Samskrita Bharati in nurturing Samskrit language.
The third session was conducted by Shri. Chaitanya Padalkar a Samskrita Bharati volunteer and university student of Samskrit. The theme of the session was the 350th anniversary of the coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Shri Chaitanya spoke about the contribution of Chhatrapati Shivaji for the salvation of Samskrit Shri. Pranav Joshi Chairman of the session said that while translating our original texts written in Samskrit the meaning of the original Samskrit words may change. Therefore Shivaji Maharaj and such other rulers did important work to protect and promote Samskrit while preserving our knowledge.
Dr Srihari Gokarankar was the chief guest at the third session of the cultural programme. He holds a doctorate degree in Chhand-shastra and is currently doing research in Natya-shastra. He also runs his own YouTube channel Samskrit-Shri. He has agreed to work with Samskrita Bharati in its activities and programmes.
In the cultural programme students of Patkar College Asmita Vidyalaya Arvind Gandbhir Vidyalaya Pragya Prasaran Prangan and women of Gita Dhyaan Yoga Kendra enthusiastically performed Samskrit bhajans stotra recitations drama song dance and importantly Samskrit conversation.
The chief guest at the final closing session was Shri. Kiran Vishnu Kamat. He is the Secretary at Jogeshwari Education Society and Director NKGSB Subsidiary Finance Company. He expressed his happiness to be at the Sammelanam and has assured of support to Samskrita Bharati to promote Samskrit language in Jogeshwari region. Konkan Prant Sah-Mantri Smt. Shyamala Bhat in her keynote address guided the participants about the way ahead. After distributing the prizes to all performers in the cultural programme the Sammelanam concluded with snacks and informal discussions..
