MULUND DISTRICT - Jnanganga Samskrita Sammelanam 2023-24

District level Samskrit Sammelanam of Mulund Janapad (district) of Samskrita Bharatis Konkan Prant was hosted at Chandrabhan Sharma College Powai on Sunday January 28th 2024. Over 150+ Samskrit enthusiasts learners and volunteers from Mulund to Vikhroli region attended this grand event. Distinguished guests including Prof. Malhar Kulkarni from IIT Mumbai Dr. Pratima Singh Principal of Chandrabhan Sharma College of Art Science & Commerce Powai and Shri Shantilal Patel President of Samskrita Bharati Mumbai Mahanagar inaugurated the event with the traditional lighting of the lamp and puja of Bharat mata .The Opening session started with the recitation of melodious Samskrit song by Shri Pranav Gogate and a Samskrit prayer by kids of Samvardhan Gyaankulam.

In his introductory speech Mr Satyendra (Mulund Janapad Samyojak ) explained the reasons for hosting such district level sammelans all over India. Dr. Pratima Singh highlighted the significant changes in NEP 2020 emphasizing the availability of interdisciplinary subjects and the introduction of Bharatheeya Knowledge systems which allows students to opt for Samskrit learning right from primary to college levels. She expressed gratitude to Samskrita Bharati for their contribution to the colleges recent A grade accreditation. Prof Malhar Kulkarni discussed the adaptability of Samskrit for computer programming and its potential to provide numerous career opportunities.

In the second session past students of Mulund Balakendram presented a street play illustrating various activities of Samskrita Bharati & courses offered for all age groups. Then Shri Sumit Shah Mumbai Samyojak of Samskrit Bharati provided an overview of the organizational structure and its initiatives. In the third session Smt. Aarti Ganesh founder of Samvardhan Gyaankulam outlined unique features of their Gurukulam which has integrated Bharatheeya Knowledge System with academic subjects and vocational training. Prof. Ganesh Ramakrishnan IIT Mumbai explained the salient features of Udaan software developed by IITB for translating texts into 22 Indian languages emphasizing its simplicity and speed. The Gurukulam students performed a play in Samskrit based on a story from Ramayana . A group of IITB students who achieved 5th Prize in All India Samskrita Bharati Shortfilm competition were felicitated. Dr. Kumar Bhatt Head of the Dept. of Education Mumbai Campus of Central Samskrit University delivered a keynote speech in flawless Samskrit highlighting the global resurgence of love for Bharats ancient heritage and culture foreseeing Bharats role as Vishva Guru . The four-hour event concluded with a recitation of the Shanti mantra for the well-being of all in this universe..
